Press Box Podcast- Episode 6

April 6th, 2011, 12:33 am · 5 Comments · posted by

After a one-week hiatus due to sunny weather game rescheduling madness and jury duty, the Press Box Podcast is back this week, tackling the local diamond rankings (including a full-fledged explanation from Jimmy why he bumped Yuba City off the top) and an early look at Marysville Raceway Park.

We’re interested in getting listener e-mail posts. If you have a question you think should be answered on air, fire me an e-mail at rlahue@appealdemocrat.com and we’ll see what we can do.

And yes, you can listen to individual segments if that truly is your heart’s desire.

Segment 1 (11:02): Jimmy Graben talks about the latest round of baseball and softball rankings, including how Maxwell has become #1. (Hint: It probably involves batting almost .500 as a team and collecting no-hitters like loose change)

Segment 2 (8:30): Get your introductory primer to racing out at Marysville Raceway Park courtesy of Ryan Klocke.

Segment 3 (7:10:12): We talk to Mike Tyson, Andre the Giant, and Ghandi about the amazing play of the Giants’ bullpen…kidding, (late) April Fools!

Nice job breaking down the local baseball picture, always enjoy hearing real analysis of local sports.

Love the podcasts. I still do not like your new foremat for the sports page though in terms of commenting. Not a facebook fan, and the comments have gone way down since you made the change. Guess if that was what you were looking to do, then it is working out ok for the paper. Not as much fun now though, not having those fireworks from the fans…
