It’s an all-diamond edition of the PBP this week, both locally and beyond.
We do our weekly breakdown of the local baseball and softball rankings, plus Jimmy talks about some of the bigger matchups coming up this week, such as today’s big softball showdown between River Valley and Yuba City (yes, there’s a lot at stake this year).
Plus, in a bit of a role reversal, Ryan will be interviewing Robert as we took a look at hot starts for two local professional farmhands, Max Stassi and Michael Walker.
We’re interested in getting listener e-mail posts. If you have a question you think should be answered on air, fire me an e-mail at rlahue@appealdemocrat.com and we’ll see what we can do.

And yes, you can listen to individual segments if that truly is your heart’s desire.
Segment 1 (12:37): Jimmy Graben talks about the latest round of baseball and softball rankings, breaking down a couple of key matchups from the past week, and what upcoming games could have an effect on next week’s rankings.
Segment 2 (7:42): Ryan Klocke interviews Robert LaHue and talks about the first week of minor league baseball action for Marysville’s Michael Walker and Yuba City’s Max Stassi.
I can’t help but to just laugh extremely loud when i see the Lindhurst softball team tripping over themselves and playing well let’s just say not very good softball and the coach says, that the other team has competitive players who play year round ball, and the coach has been the top guy for the best competitive program the area had and he let it go into the toilet and now, low and behold all of the players that were coached up by the other coaches are either at another area local school or gone off playing college ball on some type of scholarships, …………it just brings me back to a few years ago when the blazers had some great talent that had been coached up by some outstanding coaches from their competitive program, and the Lindhurst scoach, and team was getting so much pub because of the outstanding program, and the great coaching from Lindhurst. huh, lol. I said it then and i will say it now, what comes around goes around, wheres all that great coaching at Lindhurst now?? Or is it to far fetched to think that maybe, just maybe some others had something to do with the success of the program? Most who know the local softball scene over the past 10 years realize that the guys who were directly responsible for a large number of the successful softball players in the area were ran off, and away from the what was then a very competitive travel program, that LHS and other schools were benefiting from. ..BTW what happened to that competitive team that the LHs coach was looking over and taking such great care of? hmmmm Keep kicking butt marysville and let Lindhurst keep taking their high level lessons, lmbo. nite nite GO Indiians
AD,
Did ya check out the YC score on yesterday’s baseball game? Maxwell and YC finally played a game against the same team… Maxwell beat Victory Christian 2-0 and pitched thier top pitcher for thier toughest game of the year…
YC played Victory Christian yesterday and got a 8-0 win on a one hitter by YC’s number 2 pitcher. Pretty close I’d say.
Like I said to you before, Wells/Perry can two others on Maxwell can play with anybody. The difference between Maxwell and YC is the #5 thru 9 players. Yuba City has the best team when you go all through the line up. That is where the game would be decided. Oakly/Olsen vs Perry/Wells is all well and good. But the game would not be won or lost by the pitchers here it would be the #5 thru 9 players who would decide this game and YC has the better players.
Then again, if the game were a close game Wells or Perry could win it with one swing of thier bat… Isn’t that what makes baseball so much fun, you just never know.
