
The Northern Section recalculates its playoff divisions each year based on school enrollments.
It’s a pretty simple system. The 10 largest schools are Division I, next 10 largest are Division II, next 10 are Division III, then all the remaining schools playing 11-man are Division IV. 8-man football constitutes Division VI, and only schools under 150 students have the option to play 8-man.
So, with that said, here are the divisions for 2011, with the school’s 2010 CBEDS enrollment figures (Mid-Valley teams are in bold):
