After a week off, the A-D sports staff is here to deliver a brand new episode of the Press Box Podcast. Jimmy, Bryan and Andy will put a bow on the Mid-Valley’s basketball season by breaking down our All-Area team. In segment two, we analyze our first set of baseball and softball rankings. I agree with you logic. My question to you is if you take your logic all the way out, how do you rank Maxwell higher than Yuba City last year? Who played a much tougher schedule last year between those two. The only like team they played was a christian school that YC beat 8-2 and Maxwell beat them 2-1. Both teams faced the same starting pitcher for the christian school. Just asking, not complaining.
Yuba City had a closer game against NU than RV did. RV beat El Camino and YC lost to El Camino. Again, just asking.
With that said RV does have to prove they can beat Yuba City.

RV habitually plays underwhelming teams. YC plays top-shelf competition. While YC’s pitching is suspect this year, they still make it happen.
And Maxwell better than YC last year? Seriously?

Agreed. RV has never played the same level of any of the three major sports that YC has. However, with RV being still a new school and they don’t have any history like YC does, RV does not get the phone calls from the same schools as YC does. I was at an RV game last year when i happend to be in Sac during a tourny they playing in. I was asked by a fan of the other team where River Valley was. Takes time for a program to build a name for itself. RV’s baseball schedule in tougher this year than ever before. Still not as tough as YC’s so far this year but in like competition, RV has faired better (NU/El Camino). I am wondering if my Honkers may fall upon the same fate as my football and basketball teams; Finally lose a game to the cross town rival Falcons.
