Baseball/Softball Rankings (25:07)
Hey, great job as usual guys in the wrap up of the ugly incident in Granite Bay and the Baseball Rankings and breakdown.
The brawl was definitely an ugly and embarrasing black eye for our community. For anyone who lives in our community and wants to step back and say well that isn’t me, please use this incident as a self check when we attend any community event and whether our behavior (whether caught on tape or not) is something we would want the state or nation to disect. I for one will definitely be more aware when I attend sporting events to make sure I tone down any comments I make that others may hear.
Baseball rankings – I agree that when it is all said and done that RV may have the top program this year, but I still in the camp of you are not champs until you beat the champs. Your breakdowns were awsome and definitely could be right on the money, but in my book YC is No. 1 until someone can take the league title from them. That said, watch out for the Huskies, they are good and they are young with a handful of seniors this roster will be good this year and next year may be pushing both RV and YC for the top spot.
Thanks guys for continued coverage and write ups on HS Sports in our Community.
That mom and her son don’t even live in YC. they live across the river and he is a transfer to YC. Looks like he will back at his school in Yuba County next year.
Also, there are good kids, with good parents, who are taught right that do bad things. These are still teenagers. It isn’t an excuse, but I know a lot of these kids have good parents and good home lives and the parents had nothing to do with the incident, nor do they approve of the actions of their kids.
It comes down to pitching for YC. They will get good starts from Oakly, it is everyone else YC needs to get to improve to get more wins. Also, it will be Phillips, Olsen, and Ramirez most likely in the YC/RV challenge. Olsen is resting his arm, but I would bet he will pitch agaisnt YC. Also, Johnson, Cannon, Spencer, Clayton and if he get’s healthy one of their best pitchers may be back by the last series, Stewart Bradley who would be the #2 or #3 starter if healthy. And they could pitch Dove too, and most likely should be as he will be huge for them in the next two years, but should be getting a little more mound time to get ready for next year. If RV get’s healthy (Olsen/Bradley) they will be a tough team in the playoffs due to their pitching depth.
And Huskey guy is right. Sutter could be the sleeper this year.
